At the MUG meeting this Tuesday, one of the things we'll be doing is having a book swap/giveaway.<div><br></div><div>The idea for this came about because a few months ago, I moved out of my office.  While there, I collected many computer related books.  Most of the time, when I'd buy a book, I'd buy 2 copies.  One for the office and one for home.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Now, since I only have the home office,  I don't need 2 copies of all these books.</div><div><br></div><div>When I mentioned my abundance of books to a few other MUG members, we came up with the idea of bringing the books to the next MUG meeting to see if others would like to have them.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Some of the other guys also mentioned they had some books they'd like to get rid of.</div><div><br></div><div>So here's some basic information about the book swap/giveaway:</div><div><br></div>
<div>- I'll be bringing at least 40-50 books</div><div>- Most of these books are on current topics including:</div><div>    o Perl</div><div>    o Python</div><div>    o Ruby</div><div>    o PHP</div><div>    o Mysql and Postgres</div>
<div>    o Javascript & Ajax</div><div>    o Networking & security</div><div>- I'm looking to give these books away. My goal is to go home with no books.</div><div>- I'd like other people to also bring books (not for me, but for others)</div>
<div><br></div><div>We'll determine the actual method of giving away the books during the meeting.</div><div><br></div><div>So here's some questions to consider:</div><div><br></div><div>  1. Should this be open to anyone, or should it be restricted only to paid members?</div>
<div>  2. What if we say paid members get first dibbs?</div><div>  3. What should we do at the end of the night if there are books that nobody wants?</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>So, if you have some books that you want to get rid of, bring them to the meeting.</div>
<div>If you are looking to expand your library, show up at the meeting.</div><div><br></div><div>Oh yeah,  we're also having an awesome presentation on Ubuntu 12.10 and StackExchange.</div><div><br></div><div>See you all at the meeting.</div>
